Coast to Coast AM - The number one rated talk show in the world dealing with various paranormal topics, syndicated on radio around the globe, as well as the internet. Topics include all things paranormal as well as politics, environmental issues - or anything that suits their fancy!

Darkness on the Edge of Town Radio - Every week, David Schrader and Tim Dennis take you on a journey into the world of the paranormal, talking to the top names in the paranormal field and discussing the topics on the minds of paranormal enthusiasts everywhere.

Ghostly Talk - While the Ghostly Talk crew no longer actively broadcasts, their website is home to a plethora of archived shows from the years 2002 through 2009. The biggest names in the paranormal community have dropped by the Haunted Winery to talk with Doug, Scott L. and Bonnie throughout the years - check out their archives to laugh and learn about the paranormal today!

Ghostman & Demon Hunter - Every Sunday night, Ghostman and the Demon Hunter (aka the Odd Couple of the paranormal community) bring you the subjects that the paranormal community is talking about, as well as tips, guests, and hard-hitting questions!

Investigative Groups - Michigan

The following investigative groups and organizations are based in Michigan, and all come endorsed by MPI:

Highland Ghost Hunters - Operating out of Oakland County, Michigan, the Highland Ghost Hunters' combination of passion, experience and professionalism makes for a highly capable team of investigators.

Mid-Michigan Paranormal Investigators - The members of Mid-Michigan Paranormal Investigators, housed in Grayling, Michigan, use a combination of technology and rational thought in their attempts to explore the unexplained.

Upper Peninsula Paranormal Research Society - Covering Michigan's upper peninsula and surrounding areas from their home base in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, the Upper Peninsula Paranormal Research Society has proven to be a respected and capable organization for over eight years.

Resources and Tools

This section deals with tools and information sources that may prove of use to paranormal investigators. Not all of the tools listed here are strictly intended for use in paranormal research, but all are useful and can be adapted for use by research groups or individuals alike. All of the programs listed below are open source and free to use.

American Association of Electronic Voice Phenomena (AA-EVP) - For those wishing to know more about Electronic Voice Phenomena, or EVPs, the AA-EVP is a leading resource in the field. Offering examples, techniques and concepts concerning EVPs and Instrumental TransCommunication (ITC), the AA-EVP is a nonprofit educational association that is dedicated to the support of people who are interested in or who are studying these topics.

Audacity - Working with Electronic Voice Phenomena, or EVPs, requires specialized audio editing software. Audacity is a free, open source program for recording and editing sounds, available for virtually all operating systems. Audacity has achieved widespread use throughout the paranormal research community for its powerful array of tools, as well as its free cost.

Avidemux - If you need to perform some simple video editing, but can't afford the cost or complexity of Adobe Premiere, Avidemux is the solution. Avidemux is a free video editor designed for simple cutting, filtering and encoding tasks. It supports many file types, including AVI, DVD compatible MPEG files, MP4 and ASF, using a variety of codecs.

GNU Image Manipulation Program (aka GIMP) - GIMP is a free, open source photo editing and manipulating program that rivals Adobe Photoshop in terms of capability and features. GIMP's functionality can be expanded through various add-ons and extensions. Be warned, GIMP has a fairly steep learning curve, but an active online community can help those new to the program get started quickly.

OpenOffice Productivity Suite - OpenOffice is an open source office software suite that provides word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more. It is compatible with Microsoft Office document formats and is completely free of charge to download.

Scribus - When you need to create a document and a word processor just won't do, Scribus is the answer! Scribus is an open source desktop publishing program that allows users to create professional-quality page layouts, comparable to Adobe InDesign or Microsoft Publisher.

Absolute Michigan - Absolute Michigan is "All Michigan, All the Time" - a collection of links, features, news and information about the state of Michigan made better every day by real folks.

Historic Fort Wayne Coalition - The Historic Fort Wayne Coalition is committed to preserving the history of Detroit's Historic Fort Wayne, one of Michigan's historic treasures. This volunteer organization actively works to help restore and preserve the fort and its surrounding grounds, as well as assisting with presenting activities and programs at the fortress.

The Redford Theatre - The historic Redford Theatre, located in Detroit, Michigan, is home to a magnificent original-condition Barton theatre pipe organ. Opened in 1928, the Redford Theatre is today owned and operated by the Motor City Theatre Organ Society, and is a glorious reminder of Hollywood's glamorous Golden Age. Painstakingly restored to its original condition, an evening at the Redford Theatre is an experience not to be missed.
