The cemetery at Pere Cheney, Michigan. Once a thriving lumber town and site of the county seat of Roscommon County, Michigan, Pere Cheney was struck by a cholera epidemic in the early years of the twentieth century. Many of the town's residents were killed by the affliction, and the survivors burned the town to prevent its spread. It was never resettled, and eventually faded into the pages of history. Today, this desolate graveyard is virtually all that remains of this once-vibrant town.
